Senior Project Manager
Vanessa Ratard is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist who joined CAT Projects in 2015 as a Senior Project Manager. During her 15 years in the industry, she has managed numerous projects in remote areas, including Peru, Mauritania, Turkey, India and New Caledonia.
Vanessa has extensive experience in project management, most recently managing the preliminary design and procurement of a 175kW solar system for the Alice Springs Aquatic and Leisure Centre. She also provides on-going technical advice with respect to multiple wind farm investment opportunities to Palisade Investment Partners and periodically acts as their owner’s engineer on site, for the expansion of one of their wind farm assets. Vanessa is currently working with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency to develop a handbook entitled Renewable Energy Business Models for Remote Mine Sites while determining whether a hybrid solar-diesel power generation system is economically viable for a local salt mine’s BFS.
Vanessa’s previous role as an Environmental Manager of a medium sized consultancy in the UK saw her develop the firms Environmental Management System and gain ISO14001 certification. She has experience in environmental management including planning, assessment, compliance, training, monitoring, auditing, catchment management and drainage.
As a structural engineer Vanessa worked in the fields of trenchless technology sewer rehabilitation design, reservoir earthquake vulnerability analysis and structural design for mine power plants. Her experience in the mining sector extends to project management/engineering and cost engineering for preliminary economic assessments, feasibility studies, detail design and EPCM of projects ranging from 10 to a 1000 billion USD
