Senior Project Manager
Vanessa Ratard is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist who joined CAT Projects in 2015 as a Senior Project Manager. Vanessa has extensive experience in project management and during her 17 years in industry, she has managed numerous projects in remote areas, including Peru, Mauritania, Turkey, India and New Caledonia.
Vanessa is currently working with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency to develop a handbook entitled Hybrid Power Generation for Off-Grid Mines. She also provides investors with on-going technical advice with respect to multiple utility scale wind farm investment opportunities.
Increasingly she is spending extended periods in the Pacific (Fiji, Kiribati) to provide specialist procurement and construction support for EU funded WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) projects and successfully meet donor funding D+3 deadlines.
Vanessa’s previous role as an Environmental Manager of a medium sized consultancy in the UK saw her develop the firms Environmental Management System and gain ISO14001 certification. She has experience in environmental management including planning, assessment, compliance, training, monitoring, auditing, catchment management and drainage.
As a structural engineer Vanessa worked in the fields of trenchless technology sewer rehabilitation design, reservoir earthquake vulnerability analysis and structural design for mine power plants. Her experience in the mining sector extends to project management/engineering and cost engineering for preliminary economic assessments, feasibility studies, detail design and EPCM of projects ranging from USD 1M to USD 1000B.
