Shalini is an electrical engineer with specialist knowledge of modelling and simulating electrical grids.  She completed her Masters project on the simulation of integration of an Australian town into a Smart Grid as a modular tool for the primary step to studying feasibility of planning a Smart City.  Shalini joined CAT Projects in 2015.  

Prior to working at CAT Projects, Shalini worked as an engineering intern at iSyst Gmbh in Germany. There she worked as part of a research project to automate the generation of tests for circuit schematics. This work involved circuit simulation, generation of test cases and failure models. She has also undertaken work experience at Power and Water in Alice Springs, working on an electrical upgrade plan for the Tennant Creek Power Station.

Shalini has been working on a range of tasks at CAT Projects, including: 

  • Project management of emergency electrical upgrade at Alice Springs Hospital
  • Electrical upgrade of Geoscience Australia’s Data Acquisition Centre in Alice Springs
  • Assisting in overseeing commissioning of 4MW PV system at Darwin International Airport
